IRR stands for ”Internal Rate of Return” and it is the measure of an investment’s rate of return. What is a good IRR? 12 – 18% IRR. Unless you are in a controlled environment such as a green house utilizing hydroponics, you can anticipate that there will be great years, better than the anticipated ROI, and years that are not so great, having a lower than anticipated ROI—especially during the first 5 – 7 years. However, the anticipated IRR will stand pretty firm when looking at the long term of any investment utilizing farm land.
